zalando engaged board of innovation for a focused ai pilot inside one of their internal teams. the goal was not the consumer shop. the goal was to give a working group a real tool to test a hypothesis against live data, fast.
piexels built the application end to end. authentication tied into zalando's internal sso, a small backend, an ai workflow on top, and a frontend the team could actually use during the pilot. scope was tight on purpose. ship in weeks, learn in months.
the pilot ran. findings went back into boi's transformation track. we stayed on for a second iteration after the first round of feedback, then handed over.
